Chris Castaneda Band

Born and raised in Waco Tx, Chris began playing the guitar at the age of 12.

Self taught, by 13yrs old, he taught his younger brother drums, taught his dad the bass, and formed what was to become a 25+ years , and still counting, music career with his family band Pride and Joy. 

Pride and Joy has 4 albums of all original music and have performed countless shows across Texas and  the U.S. The power trio has become underground legends in the blues world and continue to perform today.

In 2011 Chris put together a new side band based out of Austin Tx called The Castaneda Project. This band was a way for Chris to break the music rules and push sonic boundaries with no limits. Ripping up stages for almost  a decade, this Texas funk outfit has 3 albums of original material and another on the way.

Chris Castaneda, now residing in Houston Tx, is a true artist in every sense of the word and is constantly reinventing himself through his music and stage performances. His albums chronicle the growth of a sound that is not restricted by genre or category and his showmanship is best described as being “electrified”.
